Adapting to working from home in Santa Barbara

An update on how Kate is faring in working from home from Santa Barbara…

It has been a slow progression.

Phase 1: We will be working from home just for a month or so. So I propped my laptop up on my entryway table with a dining room chair.

Phase 2: It looks like I will be home through June. I added a mouse and keyboard, along with a laptop riser.

Nice view but not particularly ergonomic set up

Phase 3: Most friends who have office jobs are being told to plan to be working from home indefinitely. I pick up my comfortable chair from a very quiet office. Looks like I’m going to be working from home in Santa Barbara for quite a while!

And Phase 4: My company officially announces that we are working at home at least through December 31. Time to invest in a standing desk and find a new location!

This is where we are today. I now realize that I should have done this back at phase 1!

One thing that hasn’t changed… my co-workers Lolly and Zoe. They have relocated from the entryway to the guest room/my new home office and found new spots to rest.
