Adapting fitness and diet trends for my own life

I tend to go down the rabbit hole on whatever my latest focus is. And recently, that focus has been on wellness. And there are a ton of hot trends out there. But I have started adapting fitness and diet trends for my real life. Because I don’t have endless time, money, space, and tolerance for suffering!

Why I love ordering from Good Eggs

I can’t believe in over three years of writing this blog, I’ve never written a post about why I love ordering from Good Eggs. Because it’s really a great company and I have lots of great things to say. Plus a few shopping tips for using the service.

It’s cherry season at the Moraga Farmers’ Market!

We are entering the peak farmers’ market season in Northern California. And one of the first signs is the arrival of the cherries at the Moraga Farmers’ Market. I like to stop by the local farmers’ markets at least every few weeks. But in the summer, I try to make it a weekly stop- especially the Sunday Moraga Farmers’ Market.

One of the best Bay Area grocery stores: Monterey Market

When you ask someone what the best Bay Area grocery stores are, you will invariably hear about Berkeley Bowl. And they aren’t wrong- the produce at Berkeley Bowl is really extraordinary. I have never seen so many types of apples, potatoes, carrots. But a close second is a bit more unknown- Monterey Market in Berkeley.

Rediscovering Baking with Julia and memories of 1996

I stumbled down a rabbit hole recently… I opened my copy of Baking with Julia after easily 20 years of it sitting on my book shelf. It was published in 1996 and I bought a copy right away. It’s been great fun to retry some recipes. Some things stay the same. And in other cases, wow, things have changed since 1996!
