I know, I know. Everyone probably already has a robot vacuum. But if you are one of the few holdouts, let me tell you that you need this. Seriously.
First off, a shout out to my wonderful sister Kate. She’s had a robot vacuum for a good long time, and she thought I was crazy for being skeptical. And my skepticism paid off- she bought one for me as a present!
And not only is my robot vacuum seriously good at cleaning up after our two dogs and one Dear Husband who stomps around in muddy boots. But it is a true time saver. I really can’t stand dirty floors. So every weekend, I was spending 1-2 hours swiffering, vacuuming, and mopping the floors. The dog hair tumbleweeds were driving me nuts! But our little vacuum has given me hours back every week. (Other than mopping- but I’m even considering an upgrade to a mopping vacuum now!)
And I find it very satisfying to open up the dust bin to see how much our robot has picked up in the past 24 hours. I really had no idea how much dear Cheddar was shedding!
My recommendations
There are a lot of robot vacuums on the market- so I’m going to make it easy for you and recommend the one that Kate sent me. It’s not the most expensive one but it gets the job done in our (formerly) very dusty house.
And pick up some generic filters. You will need them!
