A little Saturday indulgence with FT weekend edition

One of the upsides of the past year+ has been trying some new things. From Monocle to Masterclass, I’ve tried out some new ways of learning and relaxing. And my latest find is the FT weekend edition. We’ve just been getting it for the past three Saturdays, and I have to say that I love it!

I have a long history with the FT (the Financial Times.) They gave away free copies in the student union during grad school, and I would frequently pick one up. On international flights, it’s been the norm for Dear Husband and I to reject the USA Today (shudder!) and go for the FT. It’s got a lovely international flair. And it is published in the UK; you all know how fond I am of that!

What brought me to a new trial subscription of the FT Weekend was the plethora of mentions by famous people. A lot of people start their Saturdays with the FT Weekend edition! So I had to find out what I was missing. And we opted for the print version. There is something nice about sitting outside on a warm weekend morning with a coffee and the paper. Call me old fashioned.

It’s been three weeks since we started getting it, and so far so good. The highlight, as expected, is the “How to Spend It” magazine. Nothing like reading about vacations in distant lands and gorgeously expensive jewelry to inspire me on the weekend. Just ignore the haters 🙂

The FT is running a great promotion right now- $20 for three months. And even the regular price- $33 for three months- isn’t bad. We’ll see how it goes mid-summer, but I highly recommend giving the trial subscription a try.
