Lovely hotel in Tomales Bay for people and dogs :)

Dear Husband and I recently spent three wonderful days in Tomales Bay. And one of the highlights was staying at Nick’s Cove in Marshall, CA. It’s a great hotel in Tomales Bay, plus they take dogs! So we packed up the car with our gear, as well as Cheddar’s, and headed out for three days.

There aren’t a ton of option for a hotel in Tomales Bay. We did peek around Olema House, and there are a few B&Bs here and there. But I am so glad we stayed at Nick’s. Not only is it right on Tomales Bay, but the cabins are spacious and perfect for doggies and humans.

The weather was sunny but quite crisp and windy when we visited. So the fireplace in the room and the heated bathroom floors were just what we needed. One morning, I sat in front of the fire, drinking coffee, journaling and listening to Cheddar snoring next to me. I can’t imagine being happier!

We booked Nick’s Cove fairly last minute, and we were lucky to get a room. They only take dogs in some rooms- one of those being Jerry’s cabin where we stayed. And dare I say that the value was actually decent?? In an era where $800+ a night hotel rooms seem to be the norm (I know, I know), our room rate was $375 a night. That included a continental breakfast and an oyster sampler in the restaurant.

We had the dinner the first night at the restaurant right on the water, across Highway 1 from our room. It was casual and the food, while not huge portions, was solid.

We also wandered down the pier to the cool little cabin. The wind was fierce that afternoon, and the fire in the little cabin was just perfect.

All in all, Nick’s Cove is a great hotel in Tomales Bay and I know we’ll be back soon.
