Sparkling holiday lunch date at the Miramar Beach hotel

Everything about my recent lunch date with Dear Husband at the Rosewood Miramar Beach hotel felt “sparkling”…it was a gorgeous day, with clear blue skies. The ocean waves were twinkling under the December sun. And the decorations inside the Hotel Miramar in Montecito were sparkly and luxurious. It was a wonderful day date with my lovely husband.

Montecito has been in the news A LOT these days. From Meghan and Harry’s arrival to the various pricey real estate transactions that make the news, Montecito is a popular place to be right now. Even this very blog has chronicled some of the hot spots in Montecito. And the Miramar Beach hotel is the newest resort in the area.

Lunch at the Miramar Beach Bar

We started out with lunch at the Miramar Beach Grill. The “grill” is actually a food truck parked next to the outdoor bar. And the food was great- we had salads and a burger for Dear Husband. The people watching was very good! Of course, we had to speculate about who the group of 6 people were sitting next to us. Perfectly made up, with ragamuffin (probably terribly expensive!) clothing… it was a mystery to both of us. But as they ordered at least $200 worth of drinks, they must be doing something right 🙂

Wandering the hotel grounds

After lunch, we wandered the hotel grounds for a bit… it’s not a huge property, but they certainly make the most of it. We popped down to the beach- gorgeous day! Despite the late November date, guests were in swimsuits on loungers at the beach and the pool. Gotta love California!

The green lawn was so enticing- I can see why there were kids running around barefoot. If we had had a bit more time, I would have brought a book and settled into one of those Adirondack chairs. Alas, not this visit…

Along the way, Dear Husband challenged me to a couple of games of shuffleboard. I think he won? It was just nice to spend time with him.

Amazon holiday decorations

Afterwards, we headed inside the hotel- I wanted to check out the Goop store. (Long story short- I didn’t buy anything.) But wow, what amazing holiday decorations. More sparkly things to look at!

settee
Wouldn’t it be nice to curl up here for a few hours? Maybe with a cup of tea (or something stronger)…
bouquet of roses
I mean come on, these are flat-out gorgeous. Probably 6-7 dozen roses??

Our last stop in Montecito was Rory’s Ice Cream for a scoop of mint chocolate chip. What a perfect day!
