Sophie’s high school graduation is fast approaching. And Kate, wonderful aunt that she is, organized a terrific Bay Area party for Sophie and some of her friends. Hopefully her wonderful party plan will give you a few ideas for similar Bay Area parties!
Limo ride
Kate went out of her way to make the Bay Area party very special. It started with a limo ride for the evening, paired with non-alcoholic cocktails using Katy Perry’s drink line, De Soi. They were interesting- certainly different than the Martinelli’s kids are usually offered. And the limo was great. Sophie hooked up her phone and we were entertained with very loud music. Kids 🙂
Photo shoot with San Francisco backdrop
The first stop was Treasure Island, right near Mersea. It’s a great place to kickoff a Bay Area party- right in the center of everything. It was quite blustery, but gorgeous. The fog was rolling in, over the city, and it reminded me of why I moved to the Bay Area in the first place. Cool, grey city of love indeed!
Kate had ordered some 2022 light up props, and the girls posed with them in front of the San Francisco backdrop.
Dinner at Calavera
The next stop was at Calavera in Oakland. Dear Husband and I have been there before for lunch after a hike. It’s a great spot for a Bay Area party- the food and atmosphere are very festive and they can easily accommodate larger groups. And if you are so inclined, there’s a great ice cream stop nearby 🙂

Karaoke!
The final event of the evening was a few hours of karaoke. I didn’t realize that you can’t really go to a karaoke lounge at night when you are under 21. So we made do at home- which might have been better. Everyone could take off their shoes, there was cake, and Cheddar could participate as well.
It was so sweet of Kate to organize such a fun Bay Area party for her niece Sophie. I know it’s something Sophie will remember forever!
