It’s planner season, for all the organization and stationery nerds out there. And I am one of those people who orders her next year’s diary a good 4 months in advance. (Hey, I like to be prepared!) But I was concerned when I saw that Smythson had replaced the Soho Cosmic Travel Diary with the 2024 Soho Daily Diary. Was 2024 going to start off on a bad foot already??
Good news, fellow Smythson lovers! The 2024 Soho Daily Diary is exactly the same as the Cosmic Travel Diary. Page for page! I think Smythson decided to rename the diary so people didn’t think it was just for travel. And it’s lovely that they kept some of the cool features that makes a Smythson diary so unique.
I must say, I wish they would do a nice camel or dark grey color. But it’s black, navy, red and a few bright colors. While I like a nice pink, I’m not sure I want a pink diary that I’ll be picking up multiple times a day. So navy it is again for 2024.
Smythson kept some really fun features from the old Cosmic Travel diary. The full color maps are a bit frivolous but I love them.
And the transit maps are not super useful but still fun. I like looking at the London tube map and remembering our adventures from last year.
They kept the Year Planner pages- for the current year and the following (so, 2024 and 2025). I think these pages can be used for multiple purposes. I use them as another “control” to ensure that I don’t miss a credit card or tax payment. Yes, I am spending a lot of time on risk management these days at work and it’s spilling over into my personal life. Not a bad thing when it concerns one’s credit score!
So rest easy, Cosmic Travel diary users. The new 2024 Soho Daily Diary is the same wonderful planner you have grown to love. And it has that same featherweight paper with gilt edges that makes every day planning feel very special.
And it’s still expensive! 🙂
