Checking out the New 2024 Soho Daily Diary from Smythson

It’s planner season, for all the organization and stationery nerds out there. And I am one of those people who orders her next year’s diary a good 4 months in advance. (Hey, I like to be prepared!) But I was concerned when I saw that Smythson had replaced the Soho Cosmic Travel Diary with the 2024 Soho Daily Diary. Was 2024 going to start off on a bad foot already??

Things to do now before your Fall closet switchover

We’re at least 6 weeks away from the Fall closet switchover here in Northern California. Just when you think it’s time to get the sweaters out, Indian summer arrives. And with it can come the hottest temperatures of the year. However, there are a few tasks that really need to be done now (or even in August- gasp!) if you want to be prepared for the Fall closet switchover.

Time to replace your bedding and towels!

I just shared a post on my efforts to update the tech throughout our house- from our wifi mesh network to our watering system. Well, my efforts don’t stop there! I also budgeted for new bedding and towels. And we took the opportunity to clean out our linen closet- and boy did it need it!

Getting organized for the unexpected with an emergency binder

Repost from September 2020: I’m getting ready to share some tips on estate planning. And a good foundational document is an emergency binder! Getting organized for an emergency can serve multiple purposes.

Why bother getting organized??

There are no shortage of reasons to get organized in case of an emergency today. Especially if you live in California! It actually makes me depressed to rattle them off… earthquakes, wildfires, pandemics, riots, and who knows what else. Alien invasion?? 👽

And although it’s a complete coincidence, I’m posting this on the sad day of 9/11- a day when a lot of people faced an immense personal and national disaster. I am sure a number of those people were not prepared for what they were going to face in the weeks and months ahead of them.

Four ways to get ready for RTO-WFH hybrid life

I’m reposting this article from October… Looks like we are finally going back to the office this month (as are many of you.) I’ve updated some of my recommendations based on my preparations over the past couple of weeks. It’s a big transition and I’m doing my best to make it as easy and stress-free as possible!

Much to my dismay, I’ll be heading back to the office in the next few months. But luckily, I’ll be working from home at least 2-3 days a week. So as I start to get ready for RTO (return to office), I’m being thoughtful about what I can do now for my future hybrid life. Like most things in life, doing a bit in advance can really lower your stress.
