Cozy new things for spring mornings

Although this winter in California has been very mild- we had a few days in the 80s in February!-it’s still cold in the mornings. And it’s nice to have a few new things to stay warm until the day warms up. As we wrap up Winter 2021, I want to share a few cozy things for Spring.

Spring! I can’t complain- the Winter in the Bay Area is typical mild, and this year has been no exception. That said, especially this Spring as we start Year #2 of pandemic, I’m looking for ways to freshen up. And mark the new season with some cozy things for Spring. While Kate and I have both invested in some things to make life at home more enjoyable this Winter, it’s been nice to think about the next season.

First up was a new robe. Dear Husband surprised me with this for Valentine’s Day, and I have been loving it. I love slipping it on right after waking up, as I get ready for the day. It’s warm and it’s washable. And that fleecy UGG interior feels great.

I eat soup all year round (as a vegetarian, it’s sometimes the easiest option for me). So although this mug from Sophie is perfect for cool Spring dinners, I’ll be using it in August too. Plus, I’m a big fan of blue 🙂

You can spend a lot on a puffer vest. Trust me, I’ve done that before! But now that I’m at home so much, I don’t see the need to impress with labels. This basic vest keeps me warm (but not too warm). And I can take the pup out for a quick walk in between conference calls without searching for a light jacket.

My experience with Amazon Basics items has been generally good. I would say that their sizing runs a bit small, but they always have a wide range of sizes so it’s not a problem. Just don’t get too hung up on the exact size 🙂

Running or other exercise can be tricky on Spring mornings. You don’t want to freeze when you’re starting out, but you know you will be warm in 15 minutes. I love this half zip for exactly those reasons. It may not be a cozy item for Spring, since you’ll be a little cool starting out. But you also won’t be overheating by the end of your run.

You could spend a lot more at Lululemon, but why?

To be honest, I’ll use all these items well into Summer, and certainly next Fall. The beauty of living in California is the lovely weather that is generally mild year round. But still, it’s nice to have a few new things too!
