Sad news, it’s my final order from CW Pencil Enterprise

CW Pencil Enterprise is such a unique store, and it was a sad day when I heard that they were closing permanently. I understand that people need to move on and do new things, but where will I get my very unique pencils from now on? Luckily, I placed an order for a few things right after I heard the news about the store closure. I’m sharing what I picked up. If anything is of interest to you, hurry over there and place an order before it’s gone!

CW Pencil Enterprise package

CW Pencil had, as one might imagine, a great selection of pencils. I ordered a few samplers and interesting varieties, as you can see below. I focused on items that I think will be hard/impossible to find once the shop has closed.

Fun samplers of pencils to try

Interesting Japanese train station pencils.

I can’t remember what these are! But I’m leaving them in their little packages, as a surprise to myself when I stumble upon them next time.
CW Pencil
Eraser, washi, a fun Pentel pen and pencil caps (which are something I recently discovered. This way, the lead doesn’t break!) And an airmail stamp- perfect for all those postcards and international pen pal letters

Another fun thing is the Le Pli Postal from Paper Tigre is fun French stationery. It’s really colorful sheets of paper- you write on one side, and follow the directions to fold it into an envelope. A nice change from my normal pink/grey/blue stationery.

Of course, I don’t know the full story of why CW Pencil Enterprise is closing. Maybe it’s partly by necessity, maybe partly to try something new. But it’s a good lesson to us all, especially these days. If you love a store, online or off, you have to support them. Resist the urge to send all your dollars to Amazon (as much as I love Amazon!) Or we’ll see more of our favorite stores closing….
