Wonderful exhibit on the Tudors at the Legion of Honor

It’s the final two weeks of the exhibit on the Tudors at the Legion of Honor. Not sure why we didn’t get there sooner, but it was a busy summer! But here’s your final notice that this wonderful exhibit will be departing San Francisco on September 24th. So hightail it into San Francisco to check it out.

A moving glimpse into daily life at Last Supper in Pompeii exhibit

We have been hitting the local Bay Area museums pretty hard since things started opening up in California. And one of our favorites has been the Legion of Honor. We were last there in the Spring, and we headed back last weekend for a new exhibit: Last Supper in Pompeii. The Legion of Honor was forced to postpone the exhibit for a year due to COVID, but now it’s open and it’s wonderful.

An impromptu visit to the Legion of Honor Museum

In our continuing quest to appreciate all the treasures of the SF Bay Area, Dear Husband, Sophie and I made an impromptu visit to the Legion of Honor museum in San Francisco on Veteran’s Day. It was a bit impromptu- planned a day or so in advance- but this seems to be the new normal! You just never know what will be open and what the rules will be from week to week.

We ordered tickets online and headed out pretty early to get to Lincoln Park, at the edge of the Richmond District, where the museum is located. It was typical SF fall day- grey and 56 degrees. Perfect! Kate and I used to live in the Richmond, and the day immediately brought me back to what almost every day, summer or winter, was like when we were living there.
