Great travel-sized beauty products for your next trip

On a recent trip to Charlotte, I brought a few great travel-sized beauty products in my bag to make the experience a little nicer. It really made the challenges of travel more pleasant to have a few special things to use every morning and evening.

My little quart sized bag was stuffed!

Pack up all those little samples

The first thing I packed was all those little sample packs you may have hanging around. The samples are generally not large enough to really test something out. But in general the lotions and potions feel really nice on your skin. And that can be a real treat during a long trip.

Dr. Barbara Sturm products are way too expensive for me. So these samples are the closest I am going to get!

Treat yourself with a few new things

Of course you can decant your products in larger bottles into smaller travel-size bottles. But it’s much nicer to NOT have to do that unless really necessary. Yes, it’s more expensive to buy travel-sized beauty products. But it’s neater and sometimes you can give something too expensive a try in a smaller size.

You may not be able to find travel-sized eye care products, but there are lots of great French pharmacy items to try out. I love to take products that are multi-purpose and feel and smell great. And Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is a perfect example of this. It smells terrific and you can use it on your face, body and hair. Just pick the 1.6fl.oz. size for your travel-size beauty bag.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

It’s nice to have a facial exfoliator in your beauty bag. Travel makes me feel kind of grungy, and a gentle scrub makes everything feel smoother and cleaner. This one comes in a 2oz. size.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Skin Brightening Exfoliating Daily Facial Scrub (a ridiculously long product name!!)

I’m not sure if eye cream actually works. Who knows? But it feels like indulgent self-care to bring a little tube along on a trip. And it certainly can’t hurt, especially if you aren’t sleeping that well in your hotel room.

La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Hyaluronic Acid Eyes, 0.5fl.oz.

I don’t recommend bringing any harsh beauty products when you are traveling. Your skin is going through enough without adding Retin-A peeling on top of that. But retinol can be ok, and keep your face looking fresh each morning. (At least, that’s been my experience.)

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Retinol Night Cream

Don’t forget your hair! Different water, hotel shampoo and conditioner can all result in very sad hair. I like this product as a styling cream and leave-in conditioner. Add a little spritz of the Nuxe oil to smooth things out, and you are going to feel great.

PHYTO 9 Nourishing Day Cream with 9 Plants

Keep your travel toiletries ready for the next trip

Once I got home, I took my toiletry bag and popped it right back in the medicine cabinet- ready for the next trip. It will save me time not trying to find all my little tubes and bottles for the next journey.

I try to balance some indulgent travel-size beauty products with being cost-conscious. And I think the items I’ve recommended here fit the bill!
