Quick lunch near SF MOMA at Delarosa in San Francisco… Plus a sunny stroll

Fall is really the loveliest time in the Bay Area, as I’ve written about previously, and in an effort to enjoy all the autumnal local treasures, Dear Husband and I headed into San Francisco for some culture at SF MOMA. And a good way to start off a SF MOMA visit is with a delicious and quick lunch at Delarosa. It’s about a four minute walk from the museum, and the food is delicious.

SF MOMA art and inspiration on a beautiful San Francisco Sunday

After a couple of days feeling down, wondering when we’d all be able to travel again, I realized that I hadn’t really taken advantage of all the wonderful activities in the Bay Area (well, there was that trip to the Vacaville outlet shops :)) I needed some art and inspiration…

Although I might dream of visiting the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, maybe I could stop complaining! And get a little cultural buzz from a trip to a local museum. So Dear Husband and I headed to San Francisco on a recent Sunday for lunch, a stroll, and art and inspiration at SF MOMA.

Great California online shop: Baum-Kuchen

You all know how nuts I am for stationery. I declared my love for it very early on in this blog. Since March, I have been going deep into the world of stationery and have found some wonderful online resources that I’ll be sharing with you soon. Pamper your dog with Wufer dog cookies

Do you love to pamper your dog? You know how much we love to pamper our dogs, with treats, beach walks, and lots of tummy rubs.  And I am a sucker for a fun new surprise for them. So when I am scrolling through Instagram, I keep my eye out for new dog toys and treats. My find this past week was dog cookies from Wufers, and we love them!

Wufers has seasonal dog cookie selections that are made of quality ingredients that in theory humans could eat.  I have not tried this (not sure that I will!) but the girls seem to be enjoying the box of Halloween-themed cookies! Each cookie comes wrapped in plastic to stay fresh. You can easily share the cookies with all your dog friends.

Visit to Dog Beach at Fort Funston

I’m not sure if anyone else calls it Dog Beach, but I do! I’m really not sure you’re allowed to visit unless you bring a dog 🙂 And luckily for us, Cheddar was up for a long visit to Dog Beach at Fort Funston on a recent Sunday morning.

Fort Funston is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in San Francisco. I’ve been there several times, and most of the time it is fogged in and chilly. And that’s part of its charm; it’s nice to go from the warm East Bay to a blustery beach.

California-inspired recipes from the new Barefoot Contessa cookbook

Barefoot Contessa books
My collection of Barefoot Contessa cookbooks- started in 1997! I refer to the first one, the OG, most frequently.

Last week, Ina Garten released the next cookbook in her Barefoot Contessa series. As you can see from the photo above, I am an avid follower and pre-ordered the book when I could back in April. I’ve just started to work my way through it, and I wanted to share some recipes from the book that seem to me to be very California inspired.

If there is anyone who seems to be doing quite well through this crazy time, it’s Ina Garten. She was all over social media this summer with her enormous Cosmopolitan, and she recently said “I’ve prepared my whole life to be quarantined.”
