Things to keep in mind about your favorite fashion influencers

We are in the middle of Fall shopping season. And if you, like me, have turned your attention to some online fashion influencers for guidance, there are a few things to keep in mind. While I love watching their videos and seeing what they are wearing this season, I have to remind myself of their reality vs. mine.

Checking out the New 2024 Soho Daily Diary from Smythson

It’s planner season, for all the organization and stationery nerds out there. And I am one of those people who orders her next year’s diary a good 4 months in advance. (Hey, I like to be prepared!) But I was concerned when I saw that Smythson had replaced the Soho Cosmic Travel Diary with the 2024 Soho Daily Diary. Was 2024 going to start off on a bad foot already??

Some things that are not worth spending a lot of money on

The new Fall season frequently means shopping. And there’s such a temptation to splurge on the best option-“buy once, cry once.” But there are things that are not worth spending much on. And I’ve been giving some thought to what those items are, for me.

Best way to pack for a roadtrip with LLBean Boat & Totes

Repost in July 2023: I always have a renewed appreciation for these wonderful bags during the summer months. All the schlepping and packing is made a lot easier with a Boat & Tote!

I’m on a bit of a kick with appreciating classic things that stand the test of time. In general, I’m not a trendy person, but as I get older, I definitely want to buy things that I’m going to have for years. Or maybe even the rest of my life! That goes for scarves, and, more reasonably, it goes for LL Bean tote bags. And for our upcoming roadtrip, we’re packing with Boat & Totes for everyone, including Cheddar!

Want to do more writing? Consider NaNoWriMo

As I creep closer and closer to retirement, I’ve been thinking about what I want to do with my days. And I know I want to do more writing. I’ve participated in InCoWriMo (International Correspondence Writing Month) in the past, and it resulted in some wonderful letters back and forth across the globe. But this time, I’m interested in NaNoWriMo– National Novel Writing Month. It starts in 2 days- July 1. And if you want to do more writing- it’s for you! The goal is to write a novel in one month πŸ™‚

It’s time to freshen up your kitchen gear

This is my final post on the need to replace and upgrade some of things around your house. From bed sheets and towels to technology, it’s a sad fact that we have to invest time and money in replacing old and obsolete items around the house. And now I’m turning my attention to how to freshen up your kitchen gear.
